Crackdown 3 developers are working on an unannounced game for Microsoft

Crackdown 3 was a game that sort of came and went, coming out without much noise, with unimpressive reviews and probably equally unimpressive sales.
The game currently has a 60 on Metacritic from critics, and user ratings are even worse.
You'd think the Crackdown series would have ended with this disappointing release, but today it was revealed that several developers who worked on Crackdown 3 are currently working on an unannounced project for Microsoft. This first came to light from user ResetEra.
The LinkedIn accounts of Dave McCrate, James Goddard, and Mark Simon mention that they've been working on an unannounced game for the past few years.
The roles these developers played in the development of Crackdown 3 are certainly a delight, with McCreight serving as senior producer and Goddard and Simon as the game's design directors.
Both McCrate and Simon kept their roles in the new project, but Goddard was promoted to chief design director.Obviously, this is not confirmation that the developers are actually working on a potential Crackdown 4, and the likelihood of the series getting another installment is pretty low, given the performance of Crackdown 3.
Nevertheless, this strange industry likes to toss us unexpected curveballs, and the prevalence of Xbox Game Pass could potentially mitigate any losses caused by the previous game's performance.Still, Crackdown 4 has the potential to be much more successful this generation, as Xbox Series X is currently keeping up with the PlayStation 5.
In case you missed it, Microsoft Vice President of Communications Frank Shaw recently quoted CEO Satya Nadella during a recent earnings call as saying that the Xbox Series X overtook both the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in sales last quarter.
