MSI motherboards unlock BCLK overclocking on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor

MSI motherboards unlock BCLK overclocking on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor

Officially, the new AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor does not support overclocking, but numerous users and enthusiasts have demonstrated that it is possible to increase the clock speed of the chip by increasing the BCLK value. Some instances can even break the 5GHz mark, but average overclocking is closer to the 4.7-4.8GHz range.
MSI will soon release a new BIOS for some boards based on AGESA 1.2.0.7 firmware, including the MEG X570 Godlike, Ace and Unify series.
These are MSI motherboards with an external clock, so only they support BCLK overclocking. In the leaked images, we see the Ryzen 7 5800X3D overclocked to 4.87GHz at 1.328V by raising the BCLK by 107MHz.
This was enough to improve the Cinbench R23 single-threaded score by 7.5% and the multi-threaded score by 5%.
In addition to overclocking the BCLK, the new BIOS will also eliminate the fTPM problem that causes the game to hang and provide support for the latest Ryzen processors for the 300 series motherboard.
