A report from Business Insider says that Sony may place ads in some of its PlayStation games.Sony wants to open up new monetization opportunities for developers who make more free-to-play games by allowing them to place ads that can then be viewed for in-game rewards such as currency or cosmetics.The concept of rewarding users for interaction with advertisements is far from new and has been for quite a while This decision is likely to be left to the developer, especially in the case of offline, story-based games.One such game that comes to mind is Death Stranding , which has not been very subtle about its partnership with Monster Energy.
However, all the promotional material seems to have been cut from the director's version of the game.
