Tactical Strategy Phoenix Point will get official mod support this summer

The recent Kaos Engines expansion was the latest DLC addition for XCOM-style strategy Phoenix Point, but it didn't mark the end of the line of new features and updates.
Snapshot Games reports that Steam players can expect to see official mod support this summer, as well as official Steam Workshop integration.Modding in Phoenix Point is already possible -- there's a hub on Nexus Mods that has a few good mods collected.
However, modders will have much more options to modify and add to the game with official tools in hand, which means that the selection and amount available will increase significantly once they are released.
\"We will share more details on how mods will work in the future, but we would like to congratulate the modding community for the work already done and look forward to seeing what other modders will do when official support becomes available,\" Snapshot writes in a recent update.
The developers even highlight the Better Classes mod from Phoenix Rising Team, which reworks and customizes skill trees for all seven Phoenix Point classes. For those of us who prefer to play with mods rather than create them, the Steam Workshop integration is great news, as it allows players to install mods at the click of a button. The latest patch for Phoenix Point, Azathoth, updates the game to version 1.14.3.
The patch notes have all the details, but it mainly focuses on tracking down and fixing several persistent bugs.
