Embracer Group bought the developers of Deus Ex and Tomb Raider along with the rights to these franchises

Swedish company Embracer Group, formerly known as THQ Nordic AB and Nordic Games Publishing AB, has inked one of the biggest deals of this year in the gaming industry.
According to media reports, they managed to reach an agreement with Square Enix, getting the developers of Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief and other games along with the intellectual property rights.
Embracer Group received direct ownership of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Legacy of Kain franchises and 50 other games from the Square Enix catalog.The new acquisition of Embracer Group includes about 1,100 employees in three studios and eight offices around the world.
The studios that will move into the company are Eidos, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Montréal.We are very pleased to welcome these studios to Embracer Group.

All formalities between Embracer Group and Square Enix are expected to be settled within a year.
