May 26 Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition will get a DLS with Civilizations of Italy and Malta

Tantalus Media and Forgotten Empires Studios are preparing a new add-on for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition - Knights of the Mediterranean.
It will add the civilizations of Italy and Malta to the strategy, as well as the first set of historical maps and a mode with a focus on economics.CivilizationsItaly:Unite the rich trading republics, duchies and the Papal Region into one kingdom! With each new discovery, new settlers flow into your growing power in rivers.
Use the services of architects to construct buildings for free.
Pawn resources at the pawnshop to squeeze more revenue out of your economy - or build a grand basilica and reinforce your army with papal soldiers.
Use warriors securely covered by paves to ambush the enemy with bersalliers or to set them up for a powerful strike by mounted elmeti lances! Malta:Defend the Mediterranean from invaders with unique fortifications, don shiny armor, and bombard the enemy with coastal cannons! Fire throwers and two-handed swords will help you win the battle, and the superior logistics of the command will determine the outcome of the entire war.
Luckily, you have both! The powder casks in the Order's galleys may become damp in a sea battle, but your crossbowmen don't mind the humidity! Plus, you can replenish supplies at the gunpowder depot - or blow it up if the enemy is nearby! Historical MapsThis is a map with a random landscape and a unique objective that is based on the most famous military conflicts in Europe.
A total of eight battlefields are declared: The Italian Wars, The Eighty Years' War, The Flood, The Great Turkish War, The Northern War, The Napoleonic Wars, The Russo-Turkish Wars.
Economic mode, Tusop, is a mode where the focus is shifted from military victories to achieving economic superiority.
According to the authors, the gameplay in this mode is not as stressful as the others.
Knights of the Mediterranean will start May 26 in Steam and the Microsoft Store.
Pre-order is open.
