Monkey Island creator \"saddened\" by reaction to Return to Monkey Island style

When Return to Monkey Island, the sequel to the legendary Secret of Monkey Island and LeChuck's Revenge from the original game creators, was announced just over a month ago, some players were not thrilled with what they saw.And, as journalists noted, series creator Ron Gilbert said back in early May that the public reaction saddened him.
\"The art style of Return to Monkey Island may not be what you wanted or expected, but it's the art style I wanted.When I started working on the game, my biggest fear was that Disney wouldn't let me make the game I wanted, but working with them has been wonderful.It's ironic that the people who don't want me to make the game I want are some of the most ardent Monkey Island fans.
And that saddens me in the comments.
