The developers of the legendary Ultima series have founded a new game studio called DeMeta.It was founded by Richard Garriot, the creator of Ultima Online, Lineage, Tabula Rasa, and Shroud of the Avatar, and Todd Porter, the producer of Dungeons & Dragons.Players are promised a \"new level\" online game, with an emphasis on NFT and blockchain technology.According to the founders, they are trying to revive and redefine the MMO genre, believing that it was Ultima Online that gave birth to the genre, which has evolved for 25 years.The developers plan to involve the gaming community of Ultima fans in shaping the new version of the RPG, claiming it includes more than 25 million players.Key industry leaders including Griffin Gaming Partners, Sfermion, Dragonfly Capital, Gumi Cryptos Capital, Yield Guild Games and Animoca Brands have already announced their support for DeMeta.
