Sales of the latest Tomb Raider trilogy exceeded 38 million copies

Square Enix is believed to be not very happy with the sales of the latest parts of Tomb Raider, but information released as a result of a deal with Embracer Group paints a curious picture: the reboot trilogy gained several tens of millions of copies.Embracer has released the following data on the Tomb Raider franchise:Total sales of all AAA games in the series (since the first part in 1996) are 88 million copies.
Of these, the Tomb Raider trilogy (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider have 38 million copies.Paid downloads of the franchise's mobile games are over 53 million copies. The franchise has an average score of 81 out of 100 on Metacritic and 4.6 out of 5 on the App Store.
Judging by the comments of analyst Daniel Ahmad (Daniel Ahmad), despite the excellent sales of the last trilogy, Crystal Dynamics team's cash efficiency has remained low: in 2021, the studio's profitability was 3.6%, while at Square Enix as a whole they were at 14.2%.New Tomb Raider is already in production.
There are going to combine the timelines of the original games and the reboot.
Apparently, the deal with Embracer will not affect the creative plans of the developers of the next part.
