A year ago it was revealed that director Neill Blomkamp (District 9) had joined Gunzilla Games and was working on an untitled AAA multiplayer game there.Now the project has a name, a debut teaser and the first details about the game.Off the Grid - a royal battle in the format of the third-person shooter and dystopian future setting.The authors call their brainchild Battle Royale 2.0, as it relies on deep player progress, narrative elements and some regular changes that users see every time they return to the game.Off the Grid is unlike other battle royales.150 players battle against each other in PvP battles, and story-driven PvE quests unfold on the same map where other players are at that moment.Players can choose how the tough story should unfold, and each decision will directly affect gameplay throughout the community.The story device is the center of the game and offers a unique structure within which players can craft, modify, and transfer in-game items to one another.In Off the Grid, the line between heroism and villainy blurs as players fight for survival in secret corporate battles of the future.From the press releaseNeil Blomkamp takes the role of \"lead visionary\" in Off the Grid and helps shape design, audio, storytelling and other features.The creators of the game claimed that Blomkamp is closely involved in development and intends to stay with Gunzilla Studios for a long time - apparently, he is not a regular publicity face.Off the Grid is due to launch during 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
