The State Duma wants to create cybersports companies

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Amir Khamitov spoke about possible measures of state support for cybersportsmen. In the near future the following proposals for virtual athletes will be considered:Deferment from the army.Preferential mortgage loans.Preferences for higher education.Creating \"cybersports companies\" for alternative service.Reducing the minimum age for admission to the initial training in cybersports - from 14 to 12 l.
And not just video games - the list of disciplines may include chess, checkers and even gymnastics.
As for offline competitions, there are plans to create a mechanism to recognize cybersports arenas as sports facilities and include them in the appropriate register.
Khamitov also said that the initiative for non-competitive admission to universities of professional athletes who have achieved high results should be finalized: Various nuances and clarifications are being discussed now, including on what athletes can be included in this category.
I would like to point out that this will not only help to reduce the outflow of Russian professional athletes to foreign countries, but also to popularize university sports in our educational institutions.
