Wildfrost's deck-building RPG will be released in late 2022

Wildfrost is a new deck-building RPG based on the megahit indie game Slay the Spire, and it looks like a deceptively cute approach to endlessly replayable card battles.Wildfrost was introduced as part of today's big Nintenedo Indie exhibition.
Like Slay the Spire, the game seeks to combine the randomness and replayability of roguelikes with a deck-building strategy.
You play as one of several characters, each with unique characteristics and skills, in an effort to save the town of Snowdwell from the eternal winter threatened by Wildfrost.
You'll have to assemble a deck of allies from random loot and merchants and lead them into turn-based battles as you explore a branching map dotted with various encounters. The Wildfrost cards shown so far will seem familiar to fans of modern card games and battlers.
Minions have attack and health stats, as well as passive and active effects, and you can arrange them on a 3x2 board to line up your front lines, reserves, and back rows.
Unique keywords such as Frontline Smackback, Backline Bombard, Consume, Barrage, Aimless and many more add another level of planning when building your deck and board.Wildfrost is a collaboration between Will Lewis of Caveblazers, developer Deadpan Games, and developer Gaziter, lead artist and designer of Forager and KnotBot.
Stardew Valley publisher and Witchbrook developer Chucklefish is backing the project and says that work on it began in early 2020 after Lewis and Gaziter worked on several prototypes.Wildfrost will release on PC and Switch this winter (which is fitting).
