Previously, Duke Nukem wanted to be adapted by Paramount Pictures - with John Cena in the title role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary Entertainment bought the movie rights from Gearbox and will produce the movie.
In addition, Jean Julien Baronnet (Assassin's Creed) and Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, creators of the Cobra Kai series, will serve as producers, while a screenwriter has yet to be found, with one of the writers of Cobra Kai possibly directing.
